WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT?

45-minute sessions – this is double the industry average!

We appreciate that you are investing in your health and we will never treat you as “just another number”.

At Evolved Physio you will always receive a warm welcome and a personal approach to your appointment. We offer 45 minute 1-on-1 treatment sessions and we spend the entire time with you – no leaving you on a hot pack or machine while we treat someone else! Our entire focus is on you.

We provide a safe and welcoming space for you to discuss what is bringing you in. All information you provide is strictly confidential and will not be discussed with anyone else without your permission.

Your initial session will involve us taking a full medical history and asking a detailed series of questions about the current problem. We will then complete a physical examination to assess the cause of the problem.

Treatment will include a detailed explanation about what is happening – we believe education is a key component of the rehabilitation process. Manual therapy, as deemed appropriate by your therapist will address the pain or restriction. This may include massage, joint mobilisation or manipulation, dry needling or taping. You will also be given initial exercises to help commence the rehabilitation process.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

This will depend on your diagnosis. How any one person responds to a given injury can vary greatly. Each problem needs to be assessed and given an individual treatment plan. At Evolved Physio we will always give you a clear guide as to how long we expect your rehabilitation to take from the outset. We aim to empower our clients with the knowledge and tools to self-manage as much as possible and will not request you return for unnecessary treatment

Therefore please expect to have at least one follow-up appointment after your initial consultation to allow your therapist to assess your progress. At that stage we can help work out a treatment plan to suit your injury and budget.

CAN PHYSIOTHERAPISTS REFER FOR SCANS?

Yes, Physiotherapists are able to refer directly for bulk billed X-rays of the spine. Other areas may incur an out of pocket expense, therefore we will always discuss this with you and consult with your GP as required.

MRI, CT and Ultrasound scans can also be ordered by Physiotherapist but will not be bulk billed.
